encased in leather and marbled-paper bound volumes, with gilt tooling on spine, opening from both front and back covers, containing plaster casts of Classical intaglio gems depicting Italian paintings and sculpture, created by Liberotti. (13pcs)

Provenance: Descended in the Rutledge-Rose Family of Charleston, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • Exterior of bindings has some losses, rubbing and wear consistent with age.
    Interior text panels are in good condition. All plaquettes appear to be present with exception of one; and about half of them are detached and floating within cases. They all look to be in very good condition.
