Provenance: Augusta, Georgia private collection.

Other Notes: Engraving is believed to be by Mr. Ogawa, a Japanese engraver trained in the German and Austrian style, possibly working in the United States in the 1960's and early 1970's at gun shows on the West coast.
Currently little is known of Mr. Ogawa, but there is ample evidence pointing to a Japanese engraver with the name of Ogawa or similar spelling that most likely worked during the same period of time.
Family history says that the Augusta, GA collector traveled to the West coast and Japan where he met Mr. Ogawa. His heirs relate the story that the collector would carry a different gun each time he traveled and left it with Mr. Ogawa to be engraved and/or inlaid.
