Description:

Louis XV style boulle bracket clock France, circa 1870
Classical figure atop plinth, resting on round upper case with bronze mounts and round glazed door, housing eight-day time and strike movement over three Classical figures in front of glazed panel revealing pendulum, resting on bronze feet; together with matching wall bracket with bronze mounts; works are marked: Vincenti & Cie, 1855.

Provenance: Estate of Lilla F. Hoefer (Mrs. Herbert Wellington Hoefer), Columbia, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • Staff is missing from finial figure; substantial loss of brass inlay and veneer, splits and shrinkage cracks to case; dial and gilded mounts are in very good condition. Movement is complete and operational, however timepieces are not guaranteed to be in running order after they leave the gallery. Clock dimensions without the bracket are: H45" W22 1/2" D9"
