Description:

Louis XV style gilt-bronze and porcelain mantel clock 19th century
covered urn with lion's-mask handles mounted atop architectural ormolu base inset with Sevres style panels depicting children playing music and others with floral sprays; centering porcelain dial of conforming design, housing works marked: John Bennett, London.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #69.26.351)

    Condition:
  • One rounded porcelain panel in base is broken but intact, all other porcelain is in good condition, original gilding is in very good condition, clock is running in the gallery, however we do not guarantee it will run after leaving the gallery, overall condition is very good.
