loose needlepoint cushion on a guilloche-carved frame, raised on tapered and stop-fluted legs headed with rosettes. (Some nicks to wood, overall good condition)

*Note: John-Baptiste Boulard was considered one of the more important menuisiers of the Louis XVI period, supplying furniture for the Imperial Furniture Depository (Garde-Meuble). He collaborated with the sculptor Haure' and with Bardou, making parts to be gilded for the royal furnishings. He also constructed a series of chairs for Fontainebleau in 1786.
