Louis XVI style parquetry inlaid bonheur-du-jour, Donald Ross for Edwards & Roberts, London, mid 19th century
cushion-form top with gilded bronze gallery above cabinet door with Sevres type plaque flanked by three short drawers, over bronze-edged writing surface and two frieze drawers, on square tapering legs ending in elongated bronze gilded toupie feet.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #78.33.30)

Other Notes: One drawer is stamped "Edwards & Roberts". A nearly identical example is illustrated on page 315 of Christopher Payne's "19th Century European Furniture."

    Condition:
  • Shrinkage crack in writing surface, minor veneer and inlay losses.
