Description:

Maryland Federal inlaid mahogany card table, possibly John Shaw, Annapolis circa 1790, rectangular hinged top with line inlay and quarter-fans in corners, above conforming frieze with side drawer, on tapered square legs with leaf paterae terminating in spade feet.
H29" W35" D33 7/8" open

Provenance: Jacksonville, Florida private collection.

    Condition:
  • finish faded; minor scratches; top reset with metal brackets; warp to swing-leg gate causing toe-in of leg; slight warp in top; minor inlay losses; split to top of one leg; other minor imperfections consistent with age.
