Description:

Meissen porcelain mantel clock circa 1870
gilt, enamel and heavily applied flowers decorated shaped case surmounted by figural finial, centering pressed brass and enameled dial concealing Lenzkirch works, on lower part with musicians and jovial figures; base with underglaze-blue crossed sword mark and incised No.1047, clock marked: Lenzkirch and serial #376923.

Provenance: Columbia, South Carolina private collection.

    Condition:
  • Overall structurally sound and in good condition. The top male figure's instrument is broken; applied floral designs have chips, nick and brakes. Dial in good condition; and mechanism appear to be in working order (lacking key).
