Metamorphic inlaid mahogany library table, Maitland Smith two-piece square hinged top opening to reveal leather writing surface and two adjustable bookstands, over skirt with drawers in each end, on tapered legs ending in brass cups.

Top panels and skirt are veneered over substrate, legs are solid. Mostly mahogany, with burl paterae at tops of legs; areas of mahogany are lightened for contrast. Table is modern, within the last ten years and in good condition with minor scuffs.
