Monumental Satsuma vase on stand Meiji period, circa 1900
lotus-form rim and neck on molded ovoid body flanked by applied winged dragons clutching ring suspended with knotted twine terminating in tassels, vase painted with scenes of geishas within coastal garden, reverse painted with scene of young warriors; all raised on matching squat pedestal raised with grotesques.

Provenance: Property from an Aiken, South Carolina private collector.
Purchased from Mogi, Emanary & Co., Atlantic City, NJ; August 27, 1904 (copy of original invoice available upon request).
