Description:

North Carolina Moravian storage jar Winston-Salem, North Carolina, circa 1790
manganese-glazed exterior and lead glazed interior having well-formed rim above two pulled, shaped and applied handles centered by inscribed double line decoration, continuing down to ovoid tapering shape, attributed to the Bethabra area of North Carolina.
H6 3/4" W6 1/4"

    Condition:
  • Flaking to glaze at rim continuing to portions of body, Interior with scratches and abrasions. Right handle has been broken and reattached. Overall in good condition with wear consistent with age.
