Osorio, Trinidad Mexico (1929-2002) FRUIT STILL LIFE oil on masonite, framed signed: upper right H24" W48" *Artist biography: Osorio was a Mexican muralist in the tradition of Romero, Rivera, and Siqueiros. This painting was originally owned by Princess Kitzia Poniatowska, the daughter of the heir to the Polish throne (Jean Evremont Poniatowsky Sperry) and cousin of Anastasia. Her mother was a member of the old Mexican nobility who fled to Paris during the Revolution. She and her family returned to Mexico when WWII began. The painting was purchased by a well-known Mexican art collector.
