Rare and important \'Dave\' alkaline-glazed stoneware storage jar, Edgefield District, SC circa 1840 five-gallon ovoid jar with ear-shaped handles and rolled rim; inscribed on one side: Mr Miles Dave; opposite side inscribed: February 7th 1840/L. Miles; inscription flanked by five dots indicating capacity of jar, and double slash marks.
