Description:

Rare Federal mahogany Pembroke table attributed to Thomas Seymour Boston, circa 1808-1817
molded rectangular top with two drop leaves above conforming frieze with single drawer on tapered ring-turned and fluted legs with brass casters.
H27 1/2" W47 3/4" D36"

Literature: See Robert D. Mussey Jr's THE FURNITURE MASTERWORKS OF JOHN AND THOMAS SEYMOUR for tables of similar construction.

Other Notes: Other information available to buyer substantiating the Seymour attribution.

    Condition:
  • Refinished; a narrow strip added to one edge of top, replacing the rule joint, probably to correct a shrinkage issue with the top which interfered with proper "hanging" of the leaves. The top and leaves are of solid, well figured mahogany. Drawer pull is a replacement.
