Rare Meissen porcelain Pygmalion and Galate in the Temple of Love 18th/19th century
reticulated cupola supported by Corinthian columns forming temple and within romantic scene of young couple, on round stepped vase inscribed: Si Pygmalion la forma, Si le ciel anima son etre, l Amour fil plus il l'enflamma, sans lui que sevirait de naitre; figures with crossed swords mark.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #69.26.223)

    Condition:
  • Applied flower decoration with losses; restoration to right hand of female figure. No incised number have been located and figures is the only piece marked.
