Description:

Rare pair American Classical mahogany card tables, Boston circa 1815
rectangular top with cut corners and molded edge above conforming frieze, supported by tapering round, fluted columns to a plinth, joined by turned stretcher, all resting on fluted saber legs with brass cups and casters.
H30 1/4" D36 7/8" W36 1/2" open

Provenance: Estate of Marjorie V. Gibbs, Yemassee, South Carolina.

    Condition:
  • One table with two rear legs repaired, one missing brass cup and painted gold; tables refinished, one slightly darker than the other, slight water stains on both tops; small veneer losses on one skirt; other minor losses and imperfections consistent with age.
