Rare pair Sevres porcelain World's Fair presentation vases dated 1874
paneled elongated neck joined by gilt-metal mounts on globular body in pale aubergine glaze with gilt arabesque and cartouches with gilt dedication: EXPOSITION DES BEAUX-ARTS, CABANEL, MEMBRE DE L'INSTITUT VICE-PRESIDENT DU JURY SECTION DE PEINTURE, 1874.
Underside of each marked: Dore A Svres, S74, and incised AD-74,3, and P.V-R 74.2/BF.

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #69.26.121 and 69.26.122)

    Condition:
  • These vases come in two parts. The neck is attached to via a metal-mount, one vase has the neck reattached and along the edges there are some small nicks and retouching.
