Description:

Regency Sheffield fused plate warming dish circa 1820, entwined twig forming loop handle atop rectangular cover with gadroon band and let-in engraved crest, supported on unusual warming stand with pierced grill, liner and shaped body on scrolling feet; marked with crossed keys within shield.

Provenance: South Carolina private collection.

    Condition:
  • Exterior with nice patina and tiny spots of copper bleeding; liner with wear, scuffing and tiny spots of pressed-in sections consistent with use; water reservoir in good condition; dent to interior of cover; detachable handle also marked with crossed keys; edge of dish stamped #4.
