Renaissance Revival mahogany slant front desk, RJ Horner & Co circa 1886 three-quarter spindle gallery over fall-front carved with masque of wind god issuing scrolling foliage, with fitted interior and three lower drawers, on leaf-carved cabriole legs with ball-and-claw feet; labeled 'RJ Horner & Co., Furniture Makers, 61-63-65 West 23rd Street, N.Y'. (Missing front of one pullout, nicks, scuffs and scratches consistent with age, back leg loose) H44 1/4" W34" D19 1/2" *Note: The firm of R. J. Horner & Co., established in 1886 on East 23rd Street in New York City, produced an assortment of furniture predominantly in eighteenth century, Renaissance and Aesthetic Movement styles.
