Samuel Longfellow signed letter dated December 14th, 1886 from Cambridge, Massachusetts, written to a boy named Richard to whom he is sending a bookplate once belonging to his brother (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow) and one of his poems. unframed, H6 3/4" W8 3/4"
Together with a framed Hue and Cry from the Salisbury District Jail from Jailor George Hoover, dated December 26th 1790, for the apprehension of Joseph Robinson for a debt of fifty-seven pounds owed to Mr. McNary Esq., page size: H5" W7 3/4" (2pcs)

Provenance: Estate of the late Francis D. "Skeeter" McNairy, Savannah, Georgia.

Other Notes: The verso of the Hue and Cry with label "This rare document presented to Robert Walton McNairy in honor of his sixty-fifth birthday by Francis D. McNairy on November 13, 1976 at Greensboro, North Carolina."
