Description:

Scottish inlaid oak tall case clock early 19th century
swan's-neck pediment over domed glazed door flanked by colonettes, with 8-day time and strike movement, over central case having long door and lower stepped and molded case with bracket feet.

Provenance: Property from a South Carolina private collection.

    Condition:
  • Case in constructed with oak and mahogany veneer, scattered losses to veneer and inlay, shrinkage splits in case sides and base, seat board is not original to case, movement and dial may be by association, feet with repairs, other imperfections consistent with age, clock is not running in the gallery.
