Description:

Southern Federal walnut huntboard early 19th century
shaped rectangular top over conforming case with stepped-out center section with one drawer over cupboard doors flanked by four deep drawers, all resting on square tapered legs.

Provenance: Property from Barbee family collection, Mother's Delight Plantation, Virginia.

    Condition:
  • Old refinish, pegged construction; shrinkage and separation cracks in top; small wood strip added to back top edge. One drawer shortened and drawer bottoms replaced. Two bottom boards replaced, shrinkage splits in panel ends and hardware is replaced; other minor imperfections consistent with age.
