Albany glaze with painted accents having sculpted, handbuilt facial features and hair upon cylindrical jug; probably created by Guy Daugherty.

Provenance: South Carolina private collection.

Other Notes: Guy Daugherty was a prolific potter in South Carlina who came to Bethune from Texas and created his wares between the late 1930s into the 1950s. He was a well known and skilled artisan who enjoyed sharing the knowledge of creating art pottery with others.
