Description:

Southern walnut secretary bookcase circa 1800 scrolled swan-neck pediment centering flame finial, over pair of thirteen-light doors, on bureau with fallboard concealing interior fitted with door, drawers and valanced pigeonholes, with four long graduated drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns, on molded base with ogee bracket feet; secondary woods of walnut, yellow pine, oak and poplar. Provenance : Collection from Sea Island, Georgia.

    Condition:
  • Lower section backboards replaced, replaced glue blocks, some foot spurs replaced and with minor repairs, one drawer lip broken off at corner. Wear to drawer blades and minor stabilized tight split on left side panel. Top and bottom by association.
