Tiffany & Co mahogany grandmother clock circa 1910 arched bonnet having column supports and glazed panel door, opening to brass dial, works with three-weight movement, second hand, chiming and moon dial; lower part has paneled door flanked by fluted quarter-columns ending on molded base; dial signed: Tiffany & Company. (Good condition, minor wear to finish) H74 3/4" W17 1/2" D13 1/2" *Provenance: Once property of Herbert Filer, author of UNDERSTANDING PUT AND CALL OPTIONS, published 1966. Herbert Filer was generally regarded as the foremost authority on stock market options. He was head of Filer, Schmidt & Co., which was at the time the largest stock options firm in the country; and he held that esteemed position in both the Put and Call Brokers and Dealers Association, as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission. This clock descended in the Filer family to the present owner.
