OPERE DI VARI AUTORI (3 vols.) encased in leather and marbled-paper bound volumes, with gilt tooling on spine, opening from both front and back covers, containing plaster casts of Classical intaglio gems depicting Italian paintings and sculpture, created by Roman firm of Paoletti. The size of the volumes are H10 3/4" W7 1/2" D2 1/2"

Provenance : A Charleston, South Carolina estate.

    Condition:
  • Interiors: There are approx. 386 intaglios encased with in twelve double sided volumes, the interiors are in good condition in all indexes present. Nine of these volumes are missing a total on 34 plaster plaquettes, one volume is complete, one volume has one extra piece, and one volume has had the intaglios rearranged.

    Exterior: Are in good overall condition with normal wear. Some scuffing and few flakes to marbleized paper covers.
