U.S. Civil War Palmer .50 rimfire bolt action carbine circa 1865
NVSN; walnut stock, blue finish, marked "U.S., E.G. LAMSON & CO., WINDSOR VT" on lockplate, "WM PALMER, PATENT, DE. 22. 1863" at breech end of barrel, "MM" in oval on stock.
overall L37 1/4" barrel L20"

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #50.11.04 inked on triggerguard). Brass plaque with State of Texas Inventory #724-16625 screwed into stock just ahead of buttplate tang.

  • Action good, bore good with small area of pitting 6" from muzzle. Blue fading but retains 98%.
