brass hilt, Phrygian helmet pommel, wood grip covered with sharkskin, etched blade, marked "US, J.H. 1861" on obverse ricasso, traces of Ames mark on reverse ricasso.

    Condition:
  • Blade dark with patches of active rusting. Wire wrap is missing except for one strand at pommel. Sharkskin grip wrap is split on reverse.
