Villeroy & Boch transferware ironstone punch bowl first quarter 20th century round body above footed pedestal; interior with floral band at rim above idyllic scenes of a farmhouse, church and ruins with trees, a cow, a figure and seated boy, all centering a gazebo in the Eastern taste surrounded by bold floral sprays; conforming imagery on the exterior; with mark of bust with winged helmet above banner with VILLEROY & BOCH above semi-circle with WALLENFANGEN and GERMANY. (Rim appears to have been chipped and restored and painted in one area; there is also a crack extending from the rim which has been obscured on both sides by a painted tree) H8.5in. Diam. 17in.
