William IV style mahogany and leather club chair, Benjamin Covington (1949-2002) circa 1996
serpentine channeled continuous frame enclosing padded back, side panels and seat upholstered in suede and topnailed, with opposing panels of chocolate brown leather, arms extending to fluted column supports and block-and-ring turned legs terminating in feet with inverted cup covers.

Provenance : Benchmade in the shop of Benjamin Covington Furniture Makers, Columbia, South Carolina. Ben Covington was a local craftsman, well-known as a master builder of fine furniture and as an instructor of furniture-making and restoration classes.
