Description:

Rare French ormolu-mounted Meissen porcelain potpourri 18th/19th century
very unusual Louis XV design depicting horse-drawn chariot carrying infants which are shaded by blooms and floral-form parasol; crossed sword mark on porcelain, mounts most likely stamped.
H14 1/2" L16 3/4"

Provenance: Property deaccessioned from the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso to benefit the Museum Collections Fund. (Accession #69.26.370)

    Condition:
  • Overall in very good condition. Some minor losses to applied flowers, and the horses reins entangled. Please note that the bronze mounts of the chariot and frame is exceptional. The underside on chariot has brown wax applied as to stabilized/adhere it to the metalwork.
