Rare Palmetto Armory Model 1842 Percussion Pistol, William Glaze NVSN, circa 1852, Columbia, South Carolina, only approx. 1000 in 1852, percussion cap and ball muzzleloader, walnut stock, various marks, lock stamped: palmetto tree surrounded by PALMETTO, ARMORY S*C" in circle, and COLUMBIA, SC 1852; and barrel flat stamped: WM GLAZE&CO; barrel stamped: P over V over Palmetto Tree; barrel L8 1/2" overall L14 1/4"

The pistol stock cracked near the trigger. Overall brown patina. The barrel has some moderate pitting at the receiver. The left side of the stock is cracked at the lock screw. All markings appear correct and period.
