Southern stoneware jug, Thomas Chandler Edgefield, South Carolina, circa 1845
rich alkaline glaze with iron slip broken-stem flower decoration at center of upper body, with the number 2 inside bloom, tooled single ring lip above pulled, shaped and applied strap handle attached to tapering ovoid body.

    Condition:
  • Good overall condition with only minor crazing to thick alkaline glaze, wear consistent with age.
