Literature: Flayderman, Norm. FLAYDERMAN'S GUIDE TO ANTIQUE AMERICAN FIREARMS AND THEIR VALUES. 9th ed. Gun Digest Books, 2007. pp.575-76, #9A-350.

Other Notes: This is the type of musket that was used by the Fenian Brotherhood, an Irish-American secret society, when they invaded Canada in 1870. they were attempting to force Britian to give independence to Ireland by using Canada as a bargaining chip. All 200 Fenians were captured in May 1870 in Vermont, their leaders arrested and their weapons confiscated.

This weapon is not a "Fenian" as their weapons had a "V" cut under the middle band in the stock so that they could be disassembled and packed in trunks for traveling.

    Condition:
  • Very good condition. Bore good, couple of spots of roughness. All metal has been nickelplated, sometimes over pitting, such as on the hinge of rotating block and buttplate.
